Reliable methods in CE: Method Development and Good Working Practices

Cari E Sänger – van de Griend1,2,3

1 Kantisto BV, Baarn, the Netherlands; contact: cari.sanger@kantisto.nl

2 Div. Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Dept. Medicinal Chemistry, Biomedical Centre, Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden

3 Australian Centre for Research on Separation Science ACROSS, School of Physical Sciences, Chemistry, University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia

Description:

After a quick refreshment of the fundamentals in capillary electrophoresis (CE), approaches to Method Development will be discussed, zooming in on the influence of key operating parameters and good working practice. Although many of the examples will come from the pharmaceutical industry, the principles apply for most CE applications. After this workshop, you will develop better robust, precise and sensitive methods and will have a better understanding about the critical parameters, Analytical Quality by Design and good working practices for CE. We will immediately apply some of what we discussed in practice and review the results together.

Short biography:

Assoc Prof Dr (hab) Cari Sänger – van de Griend

After more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Cari Sänger now runs Kantisto BV, her own consultancy in the analytical pharmaceutical chemistry. Cari's research interests include implementing new technologies in industry, especially capillary electrophoresis, with a focus on the tiny details that matter. Implementation covers many aspects such as (bio)pharmaceuticals, good working practices, Quality by Design and analytical method life cycle management, protein and virus vaccine characterization, chiral separations etc.

Cari received her MSc form Leiden University and her PhD at Uppsala University. In her spare time she is Associate Professor at Uppsala University and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Tasmania. Cari also lectures at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
